Three covers. Sixteen years. Countless obstacles.
This book gave me pure hell; do you hear me?! I started writing it back in the early 2000s and managed to accidentally delete it three times. At one point it lived on a floppy disk (yes, Google it), then a diskette, and finally a thumb drive. It’s been quite the evolution.
But here’s the thing—I never gave up. I threw a few computers, shed more than a few tears, and had my share of frustrated fits. Still, I kept pushing. Because when you want something badly enough, consistency and perseverance are the real keys.
So, here’s my encouragement to you: don’t ever give up. Don’t fall for the myth of “overnight success”, most overnight successes are years, even decades, in the making.
And after all of that? I finally published Deception of Life in 2009—for the very first time.

The Evolving Series
Yes! I did it again.
I know what you’re probably thinking: after all that struggle, you went back and wrote more books?! Well, yes. It’s kind of like having a baby. People say you forget the pain, that’s why you end up having more children. And honestly? Writing, publishing, and holding a finished book in your hands is a lot like labor. It takes time, it takes tears, and it takes everything out of you. (And trust me, I’ve done both, so I know!)
When you finally hold your book for the first time, it feels like a love child, something so precious you want to protect forever. But then comes the hard part: releasing it to the world. You send it out to be read, loved, critiqued… and yes, judged.
My first book? Whew. The editing was rough. To me, it was perfect, until those “pesty” reviews rolled in and told me otherwise. And you know what? They were right. Reviews matter, and I’m grateful for them because they pushed me to grow.
So I pulled that first edition, cancelled the ISBN, and went back to work. That’s how we got cover #2. I hired the incredible editor Rebekah Cole, and in 2015 I re-released Deception of Life.
Then the story kept flowing, Book 2: Love at First Sight Again arrived in 2016, and by 2021, the trilogy was complete with Book 3: Forget Me Not.
